Melbourne Grammar School takes great pride in its strong sense of community and the Friends of Grammar, the School's parent group, is a vital force within the Grammar Community. The purpose of the Friends of Grammar is to:- Encourage and foster the involvement of parents of students of the School in the activities of the School
- Promote good will amongst parents and teachers
- Raise money to be applied for the purposes of the School
Friends of Grammar
The Friends of Grammar are:
- All parents and guardians of current students
- Headmaster and his partner
- Heads of Grimwade House, Wadhurst and the Senior School and their partners
- Teachers and staff of the whole school
Friends of Grammar operates through elected committees, one representing each of the three campuses of the School - Grimwade House, Wadhurst and the Senior School. There is also an Executive committee comprised of the Presidents and Vice Presidents of these three branch committees and the Headmaster's representative. Each committee meets regularly at The Lodge, home to the Grammar Community.
Each year a diverse range of social, educational and fundraising activities is initiated by the Friends of Grammar. These activities have included family twilight picnics, class parties, dinner dances, tennis and golf days, card days, concert evenings, dinners, plays, quiz nights, theatre nights, auctions, fairs, garden tours, luncheons and seminars.
