Offers
The School takes into account a large range of criteria in making offers of places to students because it considers it important to have an appropriately balanced School Community.
Criteria taken into account for entry of new students include:
- Date of application
- Family or other association with the School
- Academic record
- Interests and activities of the student
- Involvement with the church
In applying these criteria the perceived needs of the School at a particular time are taken into account, including the fact that Grimwade House is a co-educational school and that Melbourne Grammar is a boarding school beyond Year 6.
Applicants for entry at Year 7 are assessed for aptitude and ability whilst they are in Year 5, and for Year 9 entry, when they are in Year 8.
Offers for Preparatory are made in September, four years before commencement and for Year 3, in June, after interview, 18 months before commencement. For Year 7 the offers are made after entry assessment in early May, 18 months before commencement when the students are in Year 5. Offers for Year 9 are made after entry assessment in early May the year before commencement. Offers for non intake years (Years 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10,11,12) are made one year before commencement.
